Last Saturday, the Goat Farms Arts Center hosted the 19th annual Hambidge Auction & Performance Gala. Nestled in the North Georgia mountains, Hambidge is a creative residency program that helps a variety of artists to hone and cultivate their talents through a retreat and other programs—a pricey but well-worth-it endeavor, to be sure. The evening featured everything from performance artists and outdoor installations to live music, interactive displays and, best of all, a ton of amazing local pieces to bid on (prices ranged from $50 to $8,000) from more than 200 artists, with proceeds going to both the artist and the organization.
