This Saturday, art supply mecca Sam Flax is teaming up with the Goat Farm Arts Center for a silent auction featuring 30 artists who each created a work of art on a scheduled day during the month of March. It’s a benefit for One Love Generation, and here’s why we think it’s worth your time:
1. Get acquainted with a ton of artists
It’s not often that an event features such an array of talented local artists all in one place. Take advantage of that and check out pieces from Molly Rose Freeman, Jonny Warren, Jason Kofke, Evereman, Jesse Jauger, Joe Tsambiras and plenty more.
2. Do good, feel good
The evening’s proceeds will benefit One Love Generation, a non-profit that empowers teens “to inspire positive change through art, service and awareness.” That’s something we can get behind.
3. No cover, boo
It’s $free.99, though donations are accepted (plus it’s sponsored by Pinnacle vodka, so, cheers!).
4. Score a piece for your place
All the artwork created by the participating artists is available to bid on throughout the night, with a silent auction in the Goat Farm’s Rodriguez Room from 7:30 to 10pm. The silent auction will host three sections closing at 8:30, 9 and 9:30pm—it’s the perfect chance to replace that Radiohead poster from your dorm days.
5. Get out!
It’s spring in Atlanta and you’re alive! Pop a Claritin, enjoy non-freezing temps and hang out with some artsy party people—your CCATL girls included. If you see us, say hey!
