The second annual Riverview Landing Fall Festival on the Chattahoochee River kicks off this Friday, and it’s a doozie. Think local bands rockin’ out, tons of delish food and brews and some good old-fashioned outdoor fun. Here’s why we consider it a don’t-miss:
Get your autumn on. Two words, people: hay rides. Not to mention a bonfire, a corn maze and a hot air balloon (!!!). Where else can you check so many quintessential fall activities off your to-do list in one place?!
Live music (the seriously good kind). One of our favorite local dancey-rock acts, Sealions, joins electronic bluesy-rock outfit The Constellations and garage-punk hooligans Turf War. Basically, don’t expect to stay seated.
Pay it forward. Saturday’s event is free with a suggested $5 donation to benefit the Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, and independent environmental advocacy organization aiming to protect and restore the Chattahoochee River Basin, which provides drinking water to millions.
It’s no dinner and a movie. Talk about bang for your buck (not like that—get your mind out of the gutter). For a mere 2 tickets (or free if you win our giveaway!) you’ve got all the makings of a seriously romantic evening: local beer, an array of food trucks, music, tons of stargazing… and did we mention the hot air balloon?
Get outta town. While we forever love Atlanta, this time of year is ideal for stepping a little outside the city (Mabelton, GA to be exact), breathing in some fresh fall air and spending time in the great outdoors. Throw in a Hairy Man competition, a flatscreen TV and grill for Saturday football viewing and a BBQ cook-off and well, we’re there.
