TOP 5 | Living Walls x BTI: MOMO

1604887_245605378956518_1911646988_nLiving Walls continues their amazing goal to beautify our city with the Boulevard Tunnel initiative, the bridge that connects Old Fourth Ward and Cabbagetown. To do so, they’re welcoming artist MOMO, who begins painting the tunnel today, with a 10-day block party. Events will go through April 24 with tours, drag shows, karaoke, markets and more. He’s a great artist who we’re lucky to be hosting in ATL—so go show him and Living Walls some love after you read about our top five reasons to stop by the block party.

1. Support a great artist

Originally from San Francisco, artist MOMO has painted murals and shown his work all over the world, from New York to Portugal and South Korea. His vivid colors and geometric shapes will adorn the walls of the Boulevard Tunnel soon, bringing life to an often overlooked area of our city.

2. #weloveatl’s first exhibition

The gang at #weloveatl, the ever-growing Instagram hashtag, have been asking folks from around the city to show some neighborhood love and post photos from their favorite haunts around town. They’ll be projecting these images on their truck and at venues in the area. Next time you take a cool snap in your favorite neighborhood, make sure to tag your pictures on Instagram for your 15 minutes of fame.

3. Get a sneak peek

On Saturday, April 19, you can get a 2014 Conference Artist preview at Milltown Arms Tavern, from noon to 4pm. You won’t have to wait until later this year to see what your favorite artists are up to, and you’ll get a leg up on seeing them live in action.

4. Ain’t no party like a block party!

Come hang out at Edgewood and Carroll Street, see the spankin’ new mural and support the areas local businesses during the block party. Starting at 4pm with a tour of the walls followed by a night packed with drag shows, karaoke, #weloveatl tunnel projections and more!

5. Play your favorite childhood game at Joystick Game Bar

This is your chance to donate to our favorite cause. Play till you drop at Joystick Gamebar starting at 8pm on the 24th—every quarter played is donated to Living Walls.
