TOP 5 | Atlanta Photography Group’s Push Pin Show

The Atlanta Photography Group is always keeping an eye out for new talent and new way to help them gain recognition.Enter: The 27th Annual Push Pin Party at the Atlanta Photography Group Gallery.

Photographers, experienced or otherwise, are invited to bring their un-matted images to the gallery on February 21 and pin them up for the show. The party will be an easy way for amateur photographers to highlight their talents and for experienced ones, to show what they’ve been up to.

The show opens February 21 and goes through March 8. Here are five reasons why you should check it out:

1. Portraits by Tom Meyer: Georgia photographer Tom Meyer will be offering portraits for artists and guests alike. So, if you were looking for your next head shot, take advantage of Meyer’s talents during opening night.

2. Pizza and beer… did we mention pizza?: Eats and drinks will be available for purchase to complete a perfect (and affordable) night out.

3. Support local artists: The entry fee is $10, but all proceeds go back to similar events that support emerging artists in the —plus, you can walk away with a great photo for your abode.

4. Swing your heart out: The Flat Rock Swing Band, a six-piece Atlanta-based blend of country, rock, swing and bluegrass, will be providing some tunes throughout the opening night.

5. And if all else fails: The Atlanta Photography Group has been around since 1987, and it was made by artists for artists. Partying along with them will help keep them supporting photography in Atlanta and exposing us to some beautiful art. This party also counts as part of their membership drive—if you acquire a new membership or renew yours, entry to the party is free.
